Winner's guide

Your USDC wallet guide

Prizes are paid in USDC, a digital dollar worth $1 each. Follow these six steps to receive it and move it into your bank account. Start before you win, because identity checks can take a few days.

Step 1

Open a Coinbase account

We recommend Coinbase. It works in the US, EU, UK and many other countries, accepts USDC on the Ethereum network, and lets you send the money straight to your bank.

  1. Download the Coinbase app from the official App Store or Google Play listing, or type coinbase.com into your browser yourself.
  2. Sign up and turn on two-factor authentication (2FA).
  3. Verify your identity with a photo ID and a selfie.
  4. Link your bank account. It must be in your own name.
Do this now

Verification can take a few days. In the UK, new users also have to complete a short quiz and wait 24 hours before they can use their account. Link your bank now too (see step 6), so it's ready when you cash out.

In the EU or UK? Also set up a free MetaMask wallet in step 2 and give us that address. Here's why.

Already use another exchange? That's fine if it accepts USDC on the Ethereum network.

Step 2

Get your USDC address

Your address is like an account number for receiving crypto. In Coinbase:

  1. Tap Transfer, then Receive. On the website it's Send & receive.
  2. Choose USDC.
  3. Choose the network Ethereum.
  4. Tap Copy address. It starts with 0x.
Using MetaMask (EU and UK) or Kraken?

MetaMask

  1. Install it only from metamask.io or the official app store.
  2. Create a wallet and write your Secret Recovery Phrase on paper. Never share it with anyone.
  3. Make sure the network is Ethereum Mainnet, then copy your address.

To cash out later, you'll need a few dollars of ETH to pay the network fee for moving the USDC to your exchange.

Kraken

  1. Go to Transfer → Deposit.
  2. Choose USDC, not ETH.
  3. Choose the network Ethereum (ERC20), then Generate deposit address and copy it.

In the EU and UK, Kraken says it only accepts deposits from wallets you own, so receive the prize in MetaMask first.

Step 3

Check your address

Payments can't be reversed, so check it before you send it:

  • It starts with 0x and is 42 characters long.
  • You chose USDC and the network Ethereum (ERC-20), not Base, Solana, Polygon, Tron, BNB or any other network.
  • You copied and pasted it instead of typing it.
  • It came from your own account, not from someone who messaged you.

Address checker

This checks the address in your browser, and nothing is sent or saved. It catches typos and wrong-network addresses, but it can't see which network you picked, so still check the list above.

Step 4

Send your address to MitchJones

  1. Reply only in the Twitch whisper from the verified mitchjones account. How to recognise it.
  2. Paste your address and check that the first 6 and last 4 characters match your wallet.
  3. Save a screenshot of the conversation. It's your proof of where the money came from.

Only ever share your address. Never share your recovery phrase, passwords or 2FA codes.

Step 5

Receive your prize

The USDC usually arrives within a few minutes and shows up in your USDC balance.

We don't share the sender's personal details

Prizes are sent from a private wallet, and the giveaway does not give winners a name, home address or ID for the sender. Nobody official will ever send you one, so treat any "sender documents" you're sent as a scam.

EU and UK: why we suggest MetaMask

EU and UK law requires exchanges to ask who sent a deposit, and some won't release it without the sender's name and address. Since we don't share those, the simplest route is to receive the prize in your own wallet first:

  1. Receive the prize in your MetaMask wallet. A private wallet doesn't ask who sent it.
  2. Add a few dollars of ETH to MetaMask for the network fee, using its Buy button or by sending some from Coinbase.
  3. Send the USDC from MetaMask to your Coinbase USDC address on Ethereum.
  4. When Coinbase asks where it came from, choose Self-custody wallet → It's my wallet, then complete the quick check that proves it.

If your exchange asks about a deposit straight from the prize wallet

Sender's name or addressYou don't have these. Don't guess or make them up. Contact the exchange's in-app support instead.

When you contact support, explain that it's a giveaway prize from a private wallet and share your winner screenshot and the transaction link from etherscan.io. If the exchange still won't accept it, it normally sends the deposit back to the prize wallet. Tell MitchJones in your whisper and we'll resend it to your MetaMask address.

Step 6

Cash out to your bank

Link your bank once, then sell your USDC for your local currency and withdraw it. Your bank account must be in the same name as your Coinbase account. Choose where you bank:

  1. Link your bank: Settings → Payment methods → Add. Most banks connect instantly when you sign in. Otherwise Coinbase sends two small test deposits to confirm, which takes 1–3 days.
  2. Open your USDC balance in Coinbase and tap Cash out.
  3. Choose your bank, enter the amount and confirm.

Coinbase converts USDC to dollars 1:1 with no conversion fee. A standard ACH transfer is free and takes 1–5 business days. Instant cashout, where your bank supports it, costs a fee and allows up to $100,000 per transfer.

Questions

Common questions

Do I have to pay anything to get my prize?

No. Receiving your prize is free. Anyone who asks you for a fee, tax or deposit is a scammer. Your exchange may charge a small fee when you sell or withdraw, and it shows you that fee before you confirm.

Can you give me the sender's name and address for my exchange?

No. The giveaway doesn't share personal details about the sender. If your exchange needs them, follow the MetaMask route in step 5, which doesn't need them.

Can I use Binance, Crypto.com, Revolut or another app?

Yes, as long as it accepts USDC on the Ethereum (ERC-20) network. In the EU and UK, receive the prize in MetaMask first (step 5).

Can I be paid on Solana, Base, Tron or another network?

No. Prizes are only sent on Ethereum (ERC-20).

I sent the wrong address. What do I do?

Tell MitchJones in the same Twitch whisper straight away, before the payment is sent. Once it's sent, it can't be reversed.

My prize is large. Anything I should know?

Your exchange may have withdrawal limits, so check them early. You can split your withdrawal into several smaller ones. Your bank may also call to confirm a large transfer. Keep your winner screenshot and transaction link handy in case anyone asks where the money came from.

Do I have to pay tax?

In many countries, including the US, prizes count as taxable income. Keep a record of the date and amount you received, and ask a local tax professional. Nothing here is tax or financial advice.

Someone offered to help me set this up or cash out.

That's a scam. Block and report them. Only twitch.tv/MitchJones will contact you about a prize.
